My friend just bought a Navi and we took it out tarpon fishing under the skyway and it was amazing. I live in St Pete and it's easy to forget when the sun goes down how many unmarked poles and unmarked hazards are out there that could ruin your life. I felt safe seeing what's in front of the boat while running and the imagery was awesome. There was no moon and we were still able to see all the poles and hazards using the Navi. I recommend this product to anybody that is boating when the sun goes down. Mike

I’m writing this review from NE Florida (Amelia Island). I have a 256 Blackjack and like to fish the nearshore reefs off both Amelia island and SE Georgia. I don’t trailer my boat, I keep it at the Amelia Island Marina. From the marina to the Nashua River (intercoastal) is a short 1/2 mile run along a narrow dark channel. Once at the river its north along the river with no lights on either side for several miles. A scary navigation that has caused me to only leave after sunrise. Unfortunately it takes over an hour to get out the St Mary’s inlet and onto the fishing grounds. That kills a lot of good early morning sunrise fishing time!
I looked into buying a night camera but was shocked at not only the price but the quality of the video. My friend has a Sionix Nightwave digital camera and I have seen it on his boat. Not bad, not good! I had read a review in an electronics magazine that gave it high marks. Great when there is some ambient light but a bust when it is used in total darkness. And the price he paid! Ridiculous!
I started doing some research and came across another brand from Navinightvision. Although it is new to the market it is at a price point that makes sense (almost 1/3 the price of the Sionyx). I ordered the unit online as well as the appropriate mount that I was going to need. (I mounted it to the pipe under my T-Roof) i received it a few days later. It came in a box with List of materials and clear mounting instructions.
The installation was simple and all I had to do was run one cable into my inside helm for power after connecting it to an aux rocker switch I had. Oh, by the way it did come with a toggle switch if I chose to use it. The other cable connected to the back of my Garmin GPSMAP 1242 Chartplotter. That was it, simple installation.
I used the camera last week on an early morning departure.
The camera worked flawlessly. After we got thru the darkest part of the route to the mouth of the river, my buddy turned to me and said “ you made the right choice”.
I’m very satisfied with the NAVI night vision camera and would recommend it to anyone looking for a night camera system.

This is one of the best low light systems I've seen, to include what I've used in the military. We used to use the old PVS14 green phosphor monocular and then select units and job specialties like mine got the binocular white phosphor bnvgs and the difference was crazier than night and day (pun intended) that's what I would equate Navi to other systems I've seen so far. I took pictures and videos while we were out. No stars or moon, just house lights across the water and it was incredible. I sent them to friends and coworkers and they were blown away. One guy who's been diving longer than me said that's the best system he's seen. You not only put together an incredibly efficient and highly capable product, but made it so affordable too. I love it.
